Support
How can we help?
Answers to the questions we get most often. If none of these covers it, send us a message and a person will read it.
Account help
How do I create an account?
Sign in with Google. There is no separate password to create — your Google account is your sign-in, and the Free plan starts immediately.
I can't sign in.
Make sure you are using the same Google account you signed up with, and that you complete the Google consent screen rather than closing it. If sign-in was cancelled, simply start again. If it keeps failing, contact us with the approximate time it happened so we can find it in our logs.
Can I change which Google account I use?
Each account is tied to the Google account that created it. To move to a different Google account, sign in with the new one to create a fresh account, and delete the old one if you no longer want it.
Where do I see my current plan and usage?
Your plan is shown in the sidebar when you are signed in, and the upgrade page shows what your current plan includes along with your limits.
YouTube connection and import
How do I connect my YouTube account?
Use the Connect button on your dashboard. You will be sent to Google to grant access, then returned to the app, and your subscriptions are imported automatically.
My subscriptions didn't import.
The most common causes are that the YouTube permission was not granted, that it has since expired, or that the Google account has no YouTube channel associated with it. Reconnecting YouTube from the dashboard resolves most cases. If the import reports a quota error, the daily YouTube API allowance has been reached and it will work again the next day.
Why don't I see my full watch history from YouTube?
The YouTube API does not make personal watch history available to applications, so we cannot read it. We only record what you watch inside our own app, and we use that to personalise your feed.
How do I disconnect YouTube?
Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove our app, or use the disconnect option in the app. Your YouTube-derived data is then removed as described in our privacy policy.
Recommendations and feed
My recommendations aren't relevant.
Recommendations are driven by your learning profile and goal mode. Setting your interests and current level on the profile page, or using the auto-detect option to infer them from your recent watching, has the biggest effect. Watching a few videos inside the app also helps, because that is the activity we can actually see.
Why is a channel scored lower than I expected?
Scores estimate learning value from things like upload patterns, content depth and how much you actually complete. They are AI estimates and are meant to inform you, not to overrule you. The reason for a score is shown alongside it.
Can I hide Shorts?
Yes. Turn off Shorts in your settings and they are suppressed throughout the feed and recommendations.
Why do I see fewer results on the Free plan?
Free includes up to 50 subscriptions, 10 semantic searches per day and 20 AI Mentor messages per day. When a limit is reached the app tells you which one, and the limit resets the next day.
AI features
An AI answer or summary looks wrong.
AI output is assistive and can be mistaken or incomplete. Always check anything important against the video itself. It is not professional, academic, financial, legal or medical advice.
Why couldn't a summary be generated?
Summaries need enough text to work from. A video with no captions or transcript available, or one that is very short, may not produce a useful summary.
The AI mentor stopped mid-answer.
Answers stream as they are generated, so a dropped connection can cut one short. Sending the message again usually resolves it. If you are on the Free plan, check whether you have reached the daily message limit.
Subscription, payment and cancellation
How do I upgrade?
Open the upgrade page while signed in and choose a plan. You are taken to our payment provider's own secure checkout, and your plan is unlocked once they confirm the payment to our servers.
How do I cancel?
For a subscription bought on the web, contact us and we will cancel it at the end of your current billing period. For one bought inside our Android or iOS app, cancel it in your Google Play or Apple subscription settings — those stores manage that billing, not us.
What happens when I cancel?
You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that your account moves to the Free plan. Nothing you created is deleted.
My payment failed.
Failed charges are usually expired cards or a bank decline, and payment providers retry automatically for a short period. Updating your payment method with the provider is normally enough. Contact us if access has stopped and you believe the payment succeeded.
Can I get a refund?
Refund requests are reviewed individually. How to request one, and what happens for store purchases, duplicate charges and unauthorised payments, is set out in the refund and cancellation policy.
I was charged twice.
Contact us with the dates and amounts of both charges and we will check them against our records with the payment provider and put it right.
Privacy and data deletion
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account permanently from the settings screen in our mobile app, which removes your account and all the data attached to it — watch history, search history, mentor and assistant conversations, roadmaps, summaries, recommendations, your learning profile and your subscriptions — and revokes our YouTube access. If you are on the web, email us from the address on your account and we will carry out the same deletion. This cannot be undone.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Ask us using the privacy category on the contact form, from the email address on your account, and we will respond.
How do I stop you accessing my YouTube data without deleting my account?
Revoke our access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Your account stays, but the YouTube-derived data is removed as described in the privacy policy, and features that need YouTube stop working until you reconnect.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. The third parties involved are limited to the services that make the product work, and they are listed in the privacy policy.
Technical issues
A page won't load or looks broken.
Try a hard refresh first, then a different browser or a private window to rule out an extension. If it persists, send us the page address, what you were doing and roughly when, and we will look at our logs.
A video won't play.
Videos play in YouTube's own embedded player. Some videos are restricted by their creator from playing outside YouTube, and those can only be watched on YouTube itself — the link to do so is on the watch page.
The app feels slow when I first sign in.
The first import and analysis of a large subscription list does real work and takes a little time. It runs once; afterwards results are cached and the app is quick.
Still stuck?
Send us the details and we will get back to you at the email address you give us.
